Patch testing: always a good first hug

Before using any skincare product widely, we recommend doing a patch test first.

How to patch test

1. Apply a small amount of Skinhug to a small area of clean, dry skin.
2. Leave it on for 24 hours.
3. Watch for signs of redness, itching, bumps, rash, or irritation.
4. If the skin looks and feels normal, you can continue using a small amount as needed.
5. If irritation appears, stop using the product and rinse gently with water.

For newborns, very sensitive skin, eczema-prone skin, or babies with a history of reactions, please check with your pediatrician before use.

Can Skinhug be used on newborn skin?

Skinhug is made with gentle, fragrance-free ingredients chosen for delicate family skin.

For newborns, especially in the first few weeks, we recommend using only a very small amount, patch testing first, and checking with your pediatrician if your baby has very sensitive, reactive, or medically treated skin.

Newborn skin is still adjusting to the world. Sometimes less is best.

Areas to avoid

Avoid using Skinhug:

• In or near the eyes
• Inside the mouth
• On broken, bleeding, or infected skin
• On open wounds
• On severe rashes
• Directly on irritated diaper rash unless advised by a doctor
• On skin currently using prescribed medication unless your doctor says it is okay

For baby face use, apply only a tiny amount and avoid the eye and mouth area.

Can Skinhug help with eczema?

Skinhug is not a medicine and does not treat, cure, or prevent eczema.

Because it is fragrance-free and made with a simple oil-based formula, some families may choose to use it as part of a gentle skincare routine for dry-feeling or eczema-prone skin. But eczema can be complicated, and every baby’s skin is different.

If your baby has eczema, frequent rashes, broken skin, or very reactive skin, please check with your pediatrician or dermatologist before use.

Can pregnant and breastfeeding moms use Skinhug?

Yes, Skinhug is made for family use, including pregnancy and postpartum skin care.

It can be used on the belly, hips, thighs, arms, legs, and dry-feeling areas. If breastfeeding, avoid applying directly on the nipple area before nursing. If it accidentally gets there, gently clean the area before feeding.

Skinhug helps keep skin feeling soft and nourished, but no skincare product can guarantee prevention of stretch marks.

Storage and product care

To keep your oil fresh and happy:

• Store in a cool, dry place
• Keep away from direct sunlight
• Close the cap after use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date
• Do not use if the smell, texture, or appearance changes unusually
